Spanish Dessert Recipes

Ingredients1 ½ cups cake flour1/3 cup oil 1 cup sugar1 teaspoon vanilla extract5 eggs, well beaten1 pinch salt½ cup milk2 cups milk1 - 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk1 – 12 can evaporated milkFor the frosting1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream½ cup sugar1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Making the Tres Leches Cake Recipe
Combine the dry ingredients and mix well. Add the milk into the eggs. Fold in the dry ingrediends a little at a time , until well mixed.Pour into a well greased and floured 13 x 9 inch cake pan.Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry. After cake is completely cooled, run a knife around the edge of the pan to loosen the cake, but do not remove it from the pan. Leave the cake uncovered for 24 hours prior to soaking.
Soaking the Cake and Assembly
In a separate bowl, combine the milk, sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk. Pour over the cake which should still be in the pan. Add a little at a time, until the cakes absorbs as much as possible. Chill the cake in the refrigerator, for a minimum of four hours. Whip the heavy cream at high speed, with an electric mixer. Add in the sugar and vanilla and beat until whipped. When the cake is finished soaking, invert it on a plate and frost the sides and top with the whipped cream. Enjoy! Also try churros.
